Ringwood East Market Traffic Management Plan  2024

The Maroondah City Council requires us to have a market traffic management plan for the safety of stallholders and the general public. 

All Stall-holders: MUST follow the regulations set out below. 

  1. Public Parking is located in the surrounding streets. 
  1. Speed limit - max 10 kph (walking speed) Drive slowly & carefully with hazard lights on and watch out for pedestrians. 
  1. Traffic flow - One way circulation - entry via Knaith Road and exit via Laurence Grove.
  1. Stall-holders who have approval to park behind their stall on sites must have their cars in a parked location by 7:30am.
  1. Stall-holders without approval to park on their site: enter the market via the Knaith Road entrance, unload your goods, exit via the driveway at Lawrence Grove.  After closing time: drive carefully into the market from the Knaith Road end, load your vehicle and drive out via the driveway at Lawrence Grove. 
  1. Do not drive into or out of the market area after 7:45am and before 2pm - closing time. The entrance and exit will be blocked off during these times. 
  1. To ensure emergency service vehicles have easy access to the Knaith Road Park and stall sites, do not double park or exceed the allocated stall space. 
  1. Please be mindful of other Stall-holders when unloading vehicles - please do not stop on another Stall-holder’s site or on/near pedestrian walk ways. 
  1. Any Stall-holder-holder or Stall-holders helpers who do not comply with our parking regulations may be removed from the Market and any fees paid in advance can be forfeited.
  1. Road-type traffic cones will be used to close the park road from the Knaith Road entrance to Lawrence Grove exit point. 
  1. All market personal will be wearing hi-visibility clothing 
  1. Stall holders will be advised by the Market Manager when pack up and car movement is permitted.  Speed limit - max 10 kph (walking speed) - One way circulation - entry via Knaith Road and exit via Laurence Grove.
  2. Stall holders will be informed of this Traffic Management Plan during the Stall Holder Application process and upon arrival on the day. 
  3. Stall holders for inside stalls are required to bring their own equipment, stall allocations and positions are allocated by the Market Manager. Walkways  must be keep clear at all times and potential trip hazards removed. 
  4. All rubbish must be removed and taken home upon packup. 
  5. Access to the hall is available from 6:30am on market day and stall holder parking is available directly behind the Senior Citizen's Hall and Scouts Hall with access via the laneway off Laurence Grove. 

Inside stall positions may slightly vary as directed by the Market Manager.
